After a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year we were swiftly into the start of 2025 with all the ups and downs and changes that a new year brings. Wonderfully, thanks to some very generous supporters were were able to install a number of new solar panels. This should mean that even with long power outs or significant cloud cover we have electricity. It really does make a difference to the lives of both our residents and staff. We were also able to install an industrial washing machine thanks to more funding. It is so impressive in fact that we had to reinforce the floor and of course bring some plumbers in to help with the connections. This machine is earmarked to be part of the roll out of our new reusable nappies which will add to making Philakade more cost efficient and sustainable in the future.
